Editorial from the 4th May 2011 from our correspondant Fabien LECUYER
RENNES/ROAZHON — Dear compatriots and readers,
Having been elected Editor-in-Chief of Agence Bretagne Presse (ABP) by the team in
charge of this media, I am responsible for supervising its content. I intend to assume this
function with the sharpness and rigor that is required for the success of ABP, which has,
over the past eight years, become an important media service for the Bretons of the five
departments and our diaspora.
This success is due to the clear, unambiguous values shown by the editorial ABP (the
site : www.agencebretagnepresse.com/notes.php is in French and will soon be translated
into English).
These values are mine and I intend to uphold and respect them. On the other hand,
ABP must now develop and turn a corner. To this end, we will be launching some new
developments along the following three lines:
– 1 / To strengthen the place of the Breton language. Initiatives will be launched on this
subject over the next few weeks.
– 2 / To develop ABP internationally, with daily translations into English of key articles
that have been posted in French, Breton or Gallo. With this in mind, we are planning an
information campaign in the International English-language media about the existence of
the ABP.
– 3 / To implement talk-shows, monthly at first, on the lines of those which are currently
major radio station successes, including those in French. These talk shows will gather
together key players from the Breton press on topics relating to Brittany or International
issues.
Counting on your support in this great adventure that is Agence Bretagne Presse.
