During an interview on Radio RMN midday July 22nd, Mr M. Morvant mayor of Plouray, declared he was against the setting up of a “Carte Communale” and would not put the proposal on the agenda of the monthly council meeting that evening.
At 6 30 pm on.July 22nd a delegation composed of 8 members of NPCB56 met Mr. Morvant, by appointment, and explained in forceful terms that without a “carte communale” the consequences of allowing a mega dump in Plouray could be disastrous in more ways than one!
Seemingly the arrival of a large number of Plouraisiens (around200) in front of the Mairie caused him to agree to include the demand for a “carte communale” on the agenda for that evening.
In the council chamber some 50 members of the public filled the room to hear the mayor agree that a “carte communale” would be applied for. He added that it could take up to 18 months at which point much dissention was shown. NPCB56 information was that with the right effort the delay could be 8 months.
Many peripheral questions concerning the project were put by members of the public including : who was he representing, the people of Plouray or was he taking orders from elsewhere. No reply!
A copy of the municipal councils deliberations would be available today, July 23rd.
