Press release by the Gorsedd of Brittany, April 13th 2014 on the website: (voir le site)

The new French Prime Minister, Manuel Valls, announced his intention to transform the regional map of France by dividing the number of regions by two. According to some documents, Brittany reunited could emerge in the new configuration.

Like other Breton organizations, the Gorsedd supports a priori this recognition of our historical territory.

However, experience leads us to be cautious because, in the current project, the “Grand Ouest” region, with Brittany still amputated from the Loire-Atlantique department and stuck to the artificial Pays de Loire region, might resurface under pressure from centralist lobbies.

That is why we highly approve the initiative taken by various components of the Breton movement calling for a manifestation in Nantes, in Brittany, on April 19th, 2014 to recall the claim to reunify Brittany.

The Gorsedd invites its members, and beyond the whole Breton people, to participate in this gathering of Breton forces.
