NEWS FROM THE CELTIC LEAGUE
Despite appalling weather there was a good turn out at the Illiam Dhone commemoration yesterday.
Opening proceedings Bernard Moffatt spoke about the significance and legacy of Dhone to Manx people and our institutions.
He also pointed out that this year marks a significant commemoration in Ireland but also for Mann as well and he said government should recall what happened when an unpopular Manx government misread the public mood 100 years ago!
FULL INTERVIEW AT THIS LINK:
After the speeches and the wreath was laid at a rather wet and windy Hango Hill, the site of the execution of the Martyr, there was a lively Manx traditional music session in the Castle Arms in Castletown.
