NEWS FROM THE MANNIN BRANCH CELTIC LEAGUE
Land reform has long been on the agenda in Scotland and new legislative seems likely to give it sharp teeth (see link):
However it is the proposed amendment by the Green Party which makes the legislation most interesting from a Manx perspective.

?The Greens will tomorrow push for the Land Reform Bill to be strengthened to crack down on tax dodgers by restricting ownership by firms using British Overseas Territories and Crown Dependencies such as the Cayman Islands.?
Now whether Patrick Harvie (Scottish Greens leader) and his colleagues have their Celtic cousins in Mann in their sights of not this proposal is innovative and whether it is successful or not it could be the harbinger of legislation in other jurisdictions to curb the economic activities by sneaky tax dodging firms set up off-shore.
Looks like shrieking we are not a tax haven incessantly from the floor of Tynwald is just not going to ?cut the mustard? any more!
