Government Policy Of Greed And Growth Criticised By Dhone Speaker

Peter Crellin delivering the English oration at yesterday?s Illiam Dhone ceremony was quietly firm but uncompromising in his criticism of government and his growth policy.
Peter who together with his fellow speaker Isla Callister who delivered the Manx oration and symbolise a newer generation of culturally and politically savvy nationalists who speak directly and eschew rhetoric sticking to hard fact.
Peter is also Editor of the Mec Vannin newspaper ?Yn Pabyr Seyr? and the Illiam Dhone day edition was distributed at the Hill and later at the social event in Castletown
His speech also contained an Inter-Celtic theme in its conclusion (see below)
?This is a government that wants to rule, not to serve. This is a government that considers itself above us all, not for us all. These are politicians and businesses against the people, not of the people. Stand with me as sons and daughters of Mann. Friends from Ireland, Scotland, Cornwall, Wales, England, and elsewhere, we embrace you as brothers and sisters. We are brothers and sisters in our shared love of Mannin, her culture, and her people. Those who wish to rule do not share our view. They believe that they are better than us. Let’s show those living in the clouds of privilege that their ivory towers were built and are able to stand up because of us. We are the ones who pay for them. We are the ones who do the work that keeps them. Let us see that true power rests in our hands. Together we grant power, and together we can bring the powerful down.
