The hunger strike of Yannig Baron which lasted 22 days has ended with concessions being agreed by School authorities. Details of the agreement can be found on the web pages of Agence Bretagne Presse (voir le site)

The Celtic League had called on politicians in the other Celtic countries to endorse the campaign of Yannig Baron and as his struggle drew to a conclusion responses were starting to be be received. In Mannin a Member of Tynwald (The Manx parliament), Bill Henderson MHK, wrote to the French ambassador to London saying that he was "appalled" at the measures that Yannig Baron was having to take to illustrate the inadequacy of Breton language resources. Mr Henderson urged the ambassador to make representations to the French President and the Minister for Education. In his letter Bill Henderson also criticised French government support for the Breton language and said "Minority languages and cultures should be embraced as priceless cultural treasures and identities and not seen as a threat". In Ireland the Office of the Taoiseach said it had referred the Celtic Leagues protest to Ireland's Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dermot Ahern. In Scotland the Scottish Executive (Office of the Minister for Tourism, Culture et Sport) said the matter had been forwarded to the United Kingdom Foreign Office for attention.
