Dear Minister,

Can you advise what types of riot control equipment are manufactured in the United Kingdom for export and what controls there are on the export of such equipment and its subsequent deployment?

In relation to the above what type of incapacitant gases or sprays (e.g. CR, CS, CN etc) are produced in the United Kingdom and which countries have procured stocks of these gases in the past 10 years?

Could you also advise if UK companies resource such products from other countries and what import and export restrictions apply in such instances?

Can you advise if your Department ensures that any conditions attached to the export of riot control equipment are monitored subsequent to their export?

My thanks in anticipation of your help in this matter,

Yours sincerely,
