STRATHCLYDE POLICE FINALLY RESPOND ON RENDITION ISSUE

Strathclyde Police says they `regret' the delay in responding to repeated requests from the Celtic League over the Rendition issue.

The League wrote to the Force last year after new documents uncovered in Libya definitely linked aircraft involved in rendition to airport movements in
Scotland.

To date Scottish Police inertia on the issue is matched by their colleagues in Ireland ? an additional line of enquiry which is being pursued by the League.

The League welcomes the new commitment from Strathclyde Police to progress the matter.
