NEWS FROM THE CELTIC LEAGUE
Worrying signs that austerity programmes in the UK, Ireland and the Isle of Man may lead to cuts in support for national cultural and language programmes were considered at the Celtic League AGM in Karaez, Brittany, last weekend.
The following resolution was adopted by the meeting:
Mindful of statements by the United Kingdom, Manx and Irish governments about the need to adopt austerity measures expresses its determination to campaign against any suggested austerity measure which could be injurious to the languages and culture of the Celtic countries.
