FAW Stance Applauded

Communiqué de presse publié le 8/12/11 12:10 dans Europe par pour

Welsh Branch Secretary, Adam Philips, is continuing his campaign against Welsh football players joining a British Team being formed for the Olympics.

Mr Philips has already written to the Football Association, Wales congratulating them on the stance they have taken in stating it did not want its players joining a Team GB and has confirmed that he will be writing to players who may be thinking about the move to reconsider. Mr Philips said in a recent newspaper article:

This could be a golden time for Welsh football because we have some fantastic young players, he said.

We probably have our best chance in years of qualifying for a major tournament but the risk is our players might get injured at the Olympics.

People should be asking why Wales isn't allowed to compete in the Olympics in its own right.
