Plaid responds to ESTYN report

A report published by Estyn today is evidence that a radical transformation in the Welsh education system is needed. That was the message today from Plaid's Education spokesperson, Nerys Evans AM who reiterated her commitment to education being a top priority for Plaid Cymru.Plaid Cymru recently launched its 'Count on Plaid' programme which aims to radically transform the way government approaches education in Wales.Responding to today's Estyn report, Plaid's education spokesperson, Nerys Evans AM, said: Today's Estyn report is damning and is further evidence that the current system is failing too many children in Wales and that root and branch reform is necessary. Our children are being let down by a system that is simply not good enough and this cannot be allowed to continue. We know that the economy and education go hand in hand, and we, in Plaid Cymru, are determined that the education system is transformed so that future generations are able to fully compete on the global stage. A quality, fit for purpose education system is vital for the future of our nation and for Plaid Cymru there are no areas that we are not willing to look at in order to improve standards.
